WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ATTENDING THIS EVENT

Please review all of the public advisories listed below and frequently view this page leading up to the event on May 29-30, 2021. Our goal is to make your experience at the National Salute to America’s Heroes℠ presented by Hyundai fun and safe. We anticipate very large crowds and we hope you will help us by being prepared and raising awareness.

MARINE SAFETY INFORMATION BULLETIN (MSIB) 17-010

Safety Zone Advisory

This MSIB is to advise the public of the upcoming safety zone for the Miami Beach Air and Sea Show, in the waters off Miami Beach, Florida. This rule will be enforced from 8:30 a.m. on May 29, 2021 through 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2021 while aircraft and show boats are performing or practicing.

The zone will consist of waters of Atlantic Ocean starting from approximately 0.5 miles east of Collins Park (25º 47’52”N, 080º 6’55”W), thence directly south approximately 2.5 miles to the government cut north jetty (25º 45’40”N, 080º 7’16”W), thence west to shoreline to South Pointe Park (25º45’50”N, 080º07’49”W), thence north along the shoreline to Collins Park (25º47’56”N, 080º07’30”W).

No vessel or person will be permitted to enter the zone without obtaining permission from the Captain of the Port Miami or a designated representative.

PARKING

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m., but it’s best to arrive at the event early and stay late. The City of Miami Beach has information on parking, transportation and additional visitor services at www.MemorialDayMB.com

MIAMI BEACH RULES

The City of Miami Beach has an information-packed website (www.MemorialDayMB.com) that details the items visitors are suggested to bring and the items that are NOT permitted on the beach.

PROHIBITED items include:

  • alcohol
  • glass containers
  • litter/trash
  • plastic straws and Styrofoam (in any form)
  • tents or large umbrella structures

NATIONAL SALUTE TO AMERICA’S HEROES EVENT ADVISORIES

Due to the dynamic nature of the National Salute to America’s Heroes, presented by Hyundai, the event organizers and staff work with security and law enforcement to strictly enforce the following:

PROHIBITED items include:

  • alcohol
  • coolers in the preferred seating area
  • bicycles, in-line skates and skateboards (in the Display Village)
  • drones
  • helium balloons/balloons of any sort
  • litter/trash
  • plastic straws and Styrofoam (in any form)
  • tents or pop-up structures

REMINDERS:

  • drink plenty of water
  • wear sunscreen
  • wear your wristband to enter any/all restricted areas (media, preferred seating area…etc.)

KIDS FUN ZONE AND KEEP KIDS SAFE PROGRAM

KIDS FUN ZONE

The City of Miami Beach is hosting a Kids Fun Zone at the Air and Sea Show presented by Hyundai. Located on Ocean Drive between 12 and 13th Streets, next to Lummus Park, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday (May 29-30), kids and their parents can participate in: kids yoga, themed arts and crafts, face painting, relay races, a dance-a-thon, themed bingo, team scavenger hunts and a letter writing station to servicemen and women.

KEEP KIDS SAFE PROGRAM

Miami Beach Police and Emergency Management departments launches a wrtistband ID program known as K.I.D.S. (Kid ID Station). This program is designed to add another level of security by voluntarily issuing an ID wristband to children of all ages, their guardians and/or adults with special needs. The wristbands contain the child’s name, guardian’s name and contact information. K.I.D.S. is operational Saturday and Sunday (May 29-30) from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. with locations at Fifth, Eighth, 10th and 13th Streets at Lummus Park. Each station has a City of Miami Beach tent, portable sign and is staffed with Goodwill Ambassadors. This program is free for visitors and residents.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
